Assign keyword groups directly to content pieces
Keyword groups can currently only be used for analysis in Google Analytics. We would like to be able to assign keyword groups directly to individual pieces of content. Assigning keyword groups all at once would save time and ensure that keywords remain consistent across related content.
Make the content type editable later
Request to be able to change or edit the content type of an existing piece of content after the fact. Specifically, this currently affects the "Content Idea" content type—it cannot be changed directly if the content is actually intended for other channels. Current workaround: You can duplicate the content; when duplicating it, you can select a different content type to apply it to the desired channels. Request: Enable the ability to edit or change the content type directly on the existing content without having to duplicate it first.
Assign content to multiple stories
Specifically, my content consists of a newsletter that links to several stories—after all, a newsletter typically always contains multiple stories. To make this clear in the schedule, I need to be able to assign it to multiple stories.
Plus icon for quickly adding topics to topic areas
In strategic topic planning, it should be possible to add a new topic directly to an existing topic area using the plus icon—similar to the story feature. Currently, this can only be done by selecting “Create New” (choosing two levels) and then assigning it via “Briefing” → “Edit,” which is considered less efficient.
API: Access to the commenting feature (inline & outline)
The comment feature (inline & outline) is currently not accessible via the API—not even for reading. This prevents a workflow in which an AI creates a piece of content, receives corrections or additional briefings as comments, and automatically incorporates them during the revision process. Request: Read (and, in the future, write) access to comments via the API.
API: Direct Asset Upload to the Content Piece
Currently, images/attachments can only be uploaded via the API to "Briefing & Resources," not directly into the content piece itself (e.g., a social media post with an image). The current workaround (downloading and re-uploading to Assets) is impractical for bulk workflows. Request: An API endpoint to assign/upload assets directly to a content piece. Additionally, check whether DAM tools such as Kanto offer their own MCP server to connect assets directly.
API: Content pieces can be edited directly rather than just versioned
Currently, the API does not allow for true editing of content pieces—every "update" simply creates a new version or replaces the existing one. For partners with their own AI integration (e.g., PILUM), this means there is no endpoint that edits an existing content piece in place without creating new versions. Request: An API endpoint for directly editing content pieces.
Enable Custom Fields to Be Inserted as Placeholders in Prompt Templates
Description: Currently, custom fields cannot be inserted as placeholders in prompt templates; only predefined placeholders are supported. Current workaround: Manually copy and paste the terms from the custom field into the prompt before each submission—an additional manual step with every use. Impact: Reduces manual effort and eliminates a source of errors during each post-optimization.
Enter recurring events/promotional days.
Hello Contentbird Team, we use annual special events and themed days (e.g., April 2: World Autism Awareness Day) to generate content. Therefore, we would like to integrate these into the calendar as recurring events, for example, via a CSV import. Is that possible?
HTML Editor for Strategic Theme Planning Modules
The "Description" and "Briefing" fields currently use a plain text editor. An HTML editor would be very useful for creating lists and other content more easily.
Incorporate links into the content
Currently, only text can be entered there. But often the content is already available on other pages. It should be possible to simply enter these via URL. Currently, this results in an error.
Dashboard Tasks / View all user tasks
If you have admin privileges, you should also be able to view other users' tasks in a separate tab.
Duplicate Content / Auto Check "Copy xxx" Feature
When you duplicate content, there are four checkboxes that allow you to copy content into the new item. These are currently not selected by default. Since this action is usually appropriate, the checkboxes should be selected by default, and users can deselect them if they wish. This saves a few clicks.
Topic Planning – Creating New Topics
When creating new topics, it should be possible to name them directly during the creation process, rather than having to do so later in the overview. This reduces friction and makes the workflow much smoother.

Subtasks in Workflows
Tasks always occur one after another—but that doesn’t reflect reality. Tasks can also be assigned to different people at the same time. Contentbird could handle this with subtasks. A task would then consist of x subtasks that can be completed in any order. In addition, you could define when the main task can be marked as complete (e.g., if 4 out of 5 tasks are complete, the main task is also complete).
